Pharmacological action – antitumor, cytostatic, alkylating.
It acts on the formed DNA and its synthesis (methylation of purines, fragmentation), inhibits mitosis. Inhibits MAO.
Pharmacokinetics
Quickly and completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, penetrates into the cerebrospinal fluid. Cmax – after 30-60 minutes. Undergoes biotransformation in the liver with the formation of active metabolites. T1/2 – 10 min. 70% is excreted by the kidneys, less than 5% – unchanged.
Indications
Lymphogranulomatosis (Hodgkin’s disease), malignant reticulosis, histiocytic lymphoma, Waldenström macroglobulinemia, lymphocytic lymphoma, Brill-Simmers disease, polycythemia vera.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, severe leukopenia and thrombocytopenia, impaired renal and hepatic function.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Allowed during pregnancy. At the time of treatment should stop breastfeeding.

Hinweise
Lymphogranulomatose (Morbus Hodgkin), maligne Retikulose, histiozytдres Lymphom, Waldenstrцm-Makroglobulinдmie, lymphozytдres Lymphom, Brill-Simmers-Krankheit, Polycythaemia vera.
Kontraindikationen
Ьberempfindlichkeit, schwere Leukopenie und Thrombozytopenie, eingeschrдnkte Nieren- und Leberfunktion.
Anwendung wдhrend der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit
Wдhrend der Schwangerschaft erlaubt. Zum Zeitpunkt der Behandlung sollte das Stillen eingestellt werden.
