The medicine is applied
for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic states of tension, excitement and anxiety.
Taking the preparation in the case of sleep disorders that require treatment and are caused by anxiety, tension and excitement is only justified if the diazepam effects are desired at the same time during the day.

Not all states of tension, excitement and anxiety require drug therapy. They are often an expression of physical or mental illnesses and can be influenced by other measures or by treating the underlying disease.
for calming down and preparation (premedication) before surgical and diagnostic interventions or afterwards (postoperative medication).

contraindication
The medicine must not be taken
if you are allergic to diazepam, other benzodiazepines or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
if you have ever been dependent on alcohol, drugs or medicines
in acute poisoning with alcohol, sleeping pills and painkillers or with drugs for the treatment of mental illnesses (neuroleptics, antidepressants, lithium preparations)
in severe, pathological muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis)
with severe respiratory impairment
if you stop breathing for a short time during sleep (sleep apnea syndrome)
in case of severe liver damage, e.g. B. Jaundice with bile stasis (cholestatic jaundice)
in newborns and infants under 6 months

The dosage depends on the individual reaction situation, age and weight of the patient as well as the type and severity of the clinical picture. The principle here is to keep the dose as low and the duration of treatment as short as possible.

treatment outside the hospital
Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age take 1/2 tablet (equivalent to 5 mg diazepam per day) once a day at the beginning of treatment. If the desired effects cannot be achieved with this dosage, the dose can be increased by the doctor to 1/2 tablet twice a day or 1 tablet once a day (equivalent to 10 mg diazepam per day). Higher doses are only necessary in rare cases (e.g. psychiatric and neurological diseases) and are usually only given in hospital.
Inpatient treatment
In severe states of tension, excitement, anxiety and restlessness, the dose can be increased step by step to 1 tablet 3 to 6 times a day (equivalent to 30 – 60 mg diazepam per day).

Das Präparat ist ein Arzneimittel gegen Angst- und Spannungszustände aus der Gruppe der Benzodiazepine.
Das Arzneimittel wird angewendet
zur symptomatischen Behandlung von akuten und chronischen Spannungs-, Erregungs- und Angstzuständen.
Die Einnahme des Präparates bei behandlungsbedürftigen Schlafstörungen, die durch Angst, Spannung und Erregung bedingt sind, ist nur dann gerechtfertigt, wenn gleichzeitig tagsüber die Diazepam-Wirkungen erwünscht sind.
Hinweis:
Nicht alle Spannungs-, Erregungs- und Angstzustände bedürfen einer medikamentösen Therapie. Oftmals sind sie Ausdruck körperlicher oder seelischer Erkrankungen und können durch andere Maßnahmen oder durch eine Therapie der Grundkrankheit beeinflusst werden.
zur Beruhigung und Vorbereitung (Prämedikation) vor chirurgischen und diagnostischen Eingriffen bzw. danach (postoperative Medikation).
zur Behandlung von Zuständen mit erhöhter Muskelspannung (erhöhtem Muskeltonus).
Kontraindikation
Das Arzneimittel darf nicht eingenommen werden
wenn Sie allergisch gegen Diazepam, andere Benzodiazepine oder einen der sonstigen Bestandteile dieses Arzneimittels sind
wenn Sie früher einmal abhängig von Alkohol, Drogen oder Arzneimitteln waren
bei akuter Vergiftung mit Alkohol, Schlaf- und Schmerzmitteln oder mit Arzneimitteln zur Behandlung geistigseelischer Erkrankungen (Neuroleptika, Antidepressiva, Lithium-Präparate)
bei schwerer, krankhafter Muskelschwäche (Myasthenia gravis)
bei schwerer Beeinträchtigung der Atmung
bei kurzzeitigem Aussetzen der Atmung während des Schlafes (Schlafapnoe-Syndrom)
bei schweren Leberschäden, z. B. Gelbsucht mit Gallenstauung (cholestatischer Ikterus)
bei Neugeborenen und Säuglingen unter 6 Monaten
Dosierung von Diazepam-ratiopharm 10 mg Tabletten
Nehmen Sie dieses Arzneimittel immer genau nach Absprache mit Ihrem Arzt ein. Fragen Sie bei Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker nach, wenn Sie sich nicht sicher sind.
Die Dosierung richtet sich nach der individuellen Reaktionslage, Alter und Gewicht des Patienten sowie Art und Schwere des Krankheitsbildes. Hierbei gilt der Grundsatz, die Dosis so gering und die Behandlungsdauer so kurz wie möglich zu halten.
Die empfohlene Dosis beträgt:
Behandlungsbedürftige Spannungs-, Erregungs- und Angstzustände
Behandlung außerhalb des Krankenhauses
Erwachsene und Jugendliche über 14 Jahre nehmen zu Beginn der Behandlung 1-mal täglich 1/2 Tablette (entsprechend 5 mg Diazepam pro Tag) ein. Wenn bei dieser Dosierung die gewünschten Wirkungen nicht erzielt werden können, kann die Dosis vom Arzt auf 2-mal täglich 1/2 Tablette oder 1-mal täglich 1 Tablette (entsprechend 10 mg Diazepam pro Tag) gesteigert werden. Höhere Dosierungen sind nur in seltenen Fällen notwendig (z. B. psychiatrische und neurologische Erkrankungen) und erfolgen in der Regel nur im Krankenhaus.
Stationäre Behandlung
Bei schweren Spannungs-, Erregungs-, Angst- und Unruhezuständen kann die Dosis schrittweise auf 3- bis 6-mal täglich 1 Tablette (entsprechend 30 – 60 mg Diazepam pro Tag) gesteigert werden.
