This medicine is a solution for injection in a single-use pre-filled syringe. It is injected subcutaneously (under the skin) in the lower abdomen.
The preparation contains triptorelin, a synthetic hormone similar to gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH). GnRH regulates the release of gonadotrophins [sex hormones: luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)].
The medicine blocks the action of GnRH, reducing LH and FSH levels (so-called downregulation). This prevents premature ovulation (release of egg cells).
This medicine is used to treat women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART). With ART, ovulation can occasionally occur prematurely, resulting in a significant reduction in the chance of becoming pregnant. The drug is used to down regulate and prevent premature LH surges that can cause premature release of ova.
contraindication
The drug must not be used
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to triptorelin acetate (1:1) or any of the other ingredients of the medicine
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to GnRH or other GnRH analogues (medicines similar to this one).
if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Dosage of DECAPEPTYL
Always use the medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is one injection under the skin in the lower abdomen once a day. Treatment can be started on day 2, 3 or day 21-23 of the menstrual cycle (or 5-7 days before the expected onset of menstruation). After 2 to 4 weeks, other hormones are given to stimulate follicle growth (growth of the follicle). In general, treatment with the medicine is continued until the follicles (egg sacs) have reached a suitable size. This usually takes 4 to 7 weeks.
When there are enough follicles, you will be given a single injection of a medicine containing human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) to induce ovulation (ovulation).
Your doctor will monitor you closely for at least 2 weeks after you are given the hCG injection.

Dieses Arzneimittel ist eine Injektionslösung in einer Fertigspritze zur einmaligen Anwendung. Es wird subkutan (unter die Haut) des Unterbauches injiziert.
Das Präparat enthält Triptorelin, ein ähnliches synthetisch hergestelltes Hormon wie das Gonadotrophin-Releasing-Hormon (GnRH). GnRH reguliert die Freisetzung von Gonadotrophinen [Sexualhormone: luteinisierendes Hormon (LH) und follikelstimulierendes Hormon (FSH)].
Das Arzneimittel blockiert die GnR-H-Wirkung, wobei die LH- und FSH-Spiegel reduziert werden (sogenannte Downregulation). Dies verhindert eine vorzeitige Ovulation (Freisetzung von Eizellen).
Dieses Arzneimittel wird angewendet zur Behandlung von Frauen im Rahmen der Assistierten Reproduktionstechniken (ART). Bei ART kann die Ovulation gelegentlich vorzeitig eintreten, was zu einer deutlichen Verringerung der Wahrscheinlichkeit, schwanger zu werden, führt. Das Arzneimittel wird zur Downregulation und Verhinderung vorzeitiger LH-Anstiege, die eine vorzeitige Freisetzung von Eizellen hervorrufen können, angewendet.
Kontraindikation
Das Arzneimittel darf nicht angewendet werden,
wenn Sie allergisch (überempfindlich) gegen Triptorelinacetat (1:1) oder einen der sonstigen Bestandteile des Arzneimittels sind
wenn Sie allergisch (überempfindlich) gegen GnRH oder sonstige GnRH-Analoga (ähnliche Arzneimittel wie dieses) sind.
wenn Sie schwanger sind oder stillen.
Dosierung von DECAPEPTYL
Wenden Sie das Arzneimittel immer genau nach Absprache mit Ihrem Arzt an. Fragen Sie bei Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker nach, wenn Sie sich nicht sicher sind.
Die empfohlene Dosis ist eine Injektion unter die Haut des Unterbauches einmal pro Tag. Mit der Behandlung kann am 2. oder 3. Tag oder am 21. – 23. Tag des Menstruationszyklusses (oder 5 – 7 Tage vor dem voraussichtlichen Beginn der Menstruation) begonnen werden. Nach 2 bis 4 Wochen werden andere Hormone verabreicht, um das Follikelwachstum (Wachstum der Eibläschen) zu stimulieren. Im Allgemeinen wird die Behandlung mit dem Arzneimittel fortgesetzt, bis die Follikel (Eibläschen) eine geeignete Größe erreicht haben. Dies dauert normalerweise 4 bis 7 Wochen.
Wenn ausreichend Eibläschen vorhanden sind, erhalten Sie eine einmalige Injektion eines Arzneimittels, das humanes Choriongonadotrophin (hCG) enthält, zur Auslösung der Ovulation (Eisprung).
Ihr Arzt wird Sie mindestens 2 Wochen nach Gabe der hCG-Injektion engmaschig überwachen.
