The drug is a contraceptive (“pill”).
One tablet contains a small amount of two different female sex hormones, namely drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol.
“Pills” that contain two hormones are called “combination pills.”

When not to use the medicine
The drug should not be used if any of the following apply to you. If any of the items below apply to you, you should tell your doctor. Your doctor will then discuss with you which other form of contraception is best for you.
The medicine cannot be used:
if you have (or have had) blood clots in your legs (deep vein thrombosis, DVT), lungs (pulmonary embolism, PE), or any other organ;
if you know you have a bleeding disorder such as protein C deficiency, protein S deficiency, antithrombin III, factor V Leiden or antiphospholipid antibodies deficiency;
if you require surgery or are bedridden for a long time (see section “Information for patients”);
if you have ever had a heart attack or stroke;
if you have (or have ever had) angina pectoris (a condition that causes severe chest pain and may be the first sign of a heart attack) or a transient ischemic attack (TIA – temporary symptoms of a stroke);
if you have any of the following conditions, which may increase your risk of a blood clot in your artery:
severe diabetes mellitus with vascular disease
very high blood pressure
very high levels of fats in the blood (cholesterol or triglycerides)
a disease known as hyperhomocysteinemia.
if you suffer or have suffered in the past from a certain form of migraine (so-called “migraine with aura”);
if you have or have ever had liver disease until your liver values ​​have returned to normal
if your kidneys are not working properly (kidney failure)
with existing or previous liver tumors
if you have or suspect you have or have ever had breast or genital cancer
any unexplained bleeding from the vagina
if you are allergic to ethinylestradiol, drospirenone, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. This may cause itching, rash or swelling.
Do not take Petibelle if you have hepatitis C and are taking medicines containing ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir and dasabuvir or glecaprevir/pibrentasvir (see also the Interactions section).

Use in children and adolescents
The drug is not intended for use in women who have not yet begun menstruation.
Use in older women
The drug is not intended for use after menopause.
Women with liver dysfunction
